The Borromean Lecture Series
Values for a New Generation
Great Thinkers Discuss What Truly Matters in Life
The topic of values among young people has generated as much national attention at the start of the 21st century as it did during the Vietnam era in the 1960s. Robert L. Dilenschneider, CEO of The Dilenschneider Group and one of the country’s leading public relations authorities, lived through the tumultuous 1960s, when he attended St. Charles Preparatory School in Columbus, Ohio. Years later, he established The Borromean Lectures at the school in honor of its patron, St. Charles Borromeo. It establishes a forum at St. Charles to annually attract to campus a speaker of national renown to address the desperate need for civility, morality and high ethical standards for tomorrow’s leaders in our church, the corporate world, non-profits and service organizations, and beloved institutions. The purpose of this series was to attract respected national figures to address morals and ethics.
Since its first graduating class in 1927, St. Charles has nurtured the minds and hearts of scholars, priests, entrepreneurs, executive officers, artists, doctors, legal professionals, and community leaders. Founded in 1923, St. Charles Preparatory School provides a “complete, thorough and sound classical training” based on the message of Jesus Christ and equips students for their chosen professions. The school is devoted to attracting boys from all economic and geographic backgrounds from Central Ohio
